Before the holiday songs fill the aisles and we worry about Christmas trees, we’ve got to talk about our favorite poul-tree! From turkey and stuffing to mashed potatoes with gravy—some pairings just make sense. But as obviously as family pairs with food, so does Thanksgiving pair with wine!

While food is the staple, the wine (at least in our opinion) is arguably just as important to enhance the delicious flavors around the table. So without further ado, let’s take a look at our four favorite wines that’ll make you grin and gobble for more!

Chardonnay — It Takes Two To Turkey:

Chardonnay comes first in our list of the top four terrific wines for Turkey Day. It is statistically the most popular white wine in the world praised for its complexness and dry to medium full-bodied taste that can vary depending on when and how it is made. It is a tremendous compliment to white meat including the star of any Thanksgiving dinner: turkey! The strong, toasty vanilla notes complement the taste of roasted turkey and poultry, making it a great counterpart to your next Thanksgiving Dinner.

If that sounds good to you, be sure to order the Boston Winery Chardonnay - Touch Of Oak at the bottom of this page. It’s a winery favorite and will surely be a fantastic addition to your Thanksgiving feast!

Pinot Noir — Flexible & Unforgettable:

The next wine in our lineup is Pinot Noir which is known for being incredibly flexible. One of the challenges of pairing wines with Thanksgiving foods is that there is a cornucopia of flavors, from turkey, cranberries, and corn to mashed potatoes, pumpkin pies, and so many more. Pinot Noir does a great job standing up to these carrying flavors thanks to its diverse flavor profile and adaptability. In short, when November comes around Noir is hard to beat.

Champagne — The Perfect Foil:

Champagne is a must-have wine for celebrations and given this fall festivity that brings food and family to the forefront, it’s no surprise that champagne is on our “must-buy” list. The light and bubbliness act as a great foil to the often dense and fatty foods you’ll find around the Thanksgiving dinner table. When talking about champagne and Thanksgiving, it is the contrast between the two that help them come together so well.

Speaking of champagne, have you tried our Black Dog Brachetto? Hints of fresh raspberries, a touch of sweetness, a sparkly effervescence, and a clean, crisp finish make it the perfect champagne to pair with your Thanksgiving celebration.

Riesling — The Refresher:

Whether the meal is coming or going, it is good to have a riesling to enjoy this fun and fruity wine with your meal. It compliments many classic Thanksgiving dishes well with the added benefit of being a fantastic palette cleanser and drink to enjoy in between courses (or plates!) Known for its aromas of green apple, lime, peach, grapefruit, honeysuckle, floral, and toast, it makes a great low-ABV option to sip as you catch up with your friends and family.

So there you have it! Our picks for the top 4 wines you’ve got to try this Thanksgiving. Have fun with your pairings and you’ll be surprised just how well the right wine can transform Turkey Day!
